I want to “Sandimas Charvel guitar” like Jake's(Holdsworth's). Please tell me to how to get it .
Re: Sandimas
i guess your closest call would be an alder body + an JB humbucker(SH-4)
from Seymour Duncan

Re: Sandimas
that or find an old 80's or 90's strat and get the Duncan SH-4 or a carvin Holdsworth Pick up works well too.
The artist formally known as Brawler

Re: Sandimas
no, actually it doesn't.stratattack wrote:carvin Holdsworth Pick up works well too.
the holdsworth prototype which Jake used(by Duncan) had
too much output for mr Holdsworth himself so he wen't for something
with less output too suit his smooth legato playing.

Re: Sandimas
Interesting, so it's a model guitar this "Sandimas/Charvel" at first glance I was thinking of Christmas. Interesting thread..-so Charvel has a guitar model called Sandimas and of course I heard of the name Holdworths guitars before. Peace.
Re: Sandimas
Oh, yes how does this "Sandimas" Charvel guitar model looks like.
Re: Sandimas
it's a Strat-shaped body from Charvel ... with a humbucker.Shadow wrote:Oh, yes how does this "Sandimas" Charvel guitar model looks like.

the ESPs is not like the Fender or the Charvels.
it has a Gibson scale fretboard on a Fender neck

Re: Sandimas
Couple of random San Dimas facts:
1) San Dimas is in "The Valley".
2) San Dimas is where "Bill and Ted" were from.
3) San Dimas (the place) is not all that special.
Sorry, maybe it's just me, but every time I read about that particular guitar, I instantly think of the town of San Dimas.
I know a lot of you guys are Charvel/Jackson/Wayne experts. Does anyone know why they named that guitar after such a non-descript town?

Re: Sandimas
ok - here is my theory, they buy their parts from warmoth and mark it up 250%
and you think , wow, I have a cool guitar...
If you are spending that much, go to warmoth, buy the parts and have a luthier throw it together...
then with the money you saved, put a down payment on a nice tube amp, say a VHT Deliverance?
DOH
Or better yet get a Gibson SG JR for under a grand -

Re: Sandimas
San dimas was where the PO Box was for charvel/jackson.The guitars werent even built in saN dimas, it was a town next to it.The reason they are named san dimas is that is the address on the neck plates uesed through out the 82-86 american made charvels and jacksons before they moved to Onterio california.
Those guitars have a magic that cannot be denied.Just ask anyone who has owned one from that era.Jackons havent been the same since.
