Where did you get most of the parts, Warmoth?

The body isn't from Warmoth for sure, they just refuse to do that kind of exotic pickup routing.

The neck and body were obtained from Musikraft (www.musikraft.com) I worked with Jim (the owner) to come up with the CNC program to put the slant pickup routing and get the output jack on top of the rear routed body (I still had to bore a clearance hole for the input jack, which is already there in a top rout style body). It took two prototypes to get it right. Musikraft has the most accurate Charvel style bodies. I forgot to add some pics of the rear which includes the "triangle" rear control cavity rout. Warmoth won't do ethier, the slant pickup or rear control cavity. Warmoth finally came back and said the rear rout would be $325. I told 'em to forget that.
If you contact Musikraft now, they can do this body. Talk to Jim or email him.

BTW, that's a nice looking Tele in the background. Did you make that one too, or is it an original?

I made that one too! It's a "Nocaster", I got a real light swamp ash body from Warmoth's store and a Allparts vintage Nitro neck. For the body, I used Nitro lacquer from www.reranch.com, all spray cans, Ha Ha. I used the Blonde pigment first with the clear over top. It was pretty tricky since the Blonde material is opaque. So, you have to "dust" it on in layers till it looks right. All the hardware is Fender and the pickups are the Custom Shop Nocasters. It's the best Tele I've played including the Fender production '52 Reissue. I'm starting to like the one's I build more than production guitars. Although, I am waiting on the Jackson Custom shop for a guitar I spec's out. It should be great. They do nice work.

Thanks for the comments, I wondered when the YJM comment was going to come up. He autographed a poster for me when I saw him in Houston this past Fall. I have his Fender signature guitar as well. Definitely a different feel guitar.

Since the Carvin kit, I've been looking to build a Charvel Dinky copy but haven't found a place that will make one like I want, which is basically one humbucker, fixed tail, 1 knob. Any ideas? Also, is it just me or is Warmoth way overpriced?

i have another thing going on aswell

the easiest thing would be if you already had a guitar of some sort
get some pieces of wood, without branchholes
glue them together.
have a piece of some plywood(or similar) to draw the shape
(using the guitar you already have).
take a saw and cut out the body.

speaking of which ... does anybody know what glue wood be
best to use for this process ?? I have the pieces(mostly birch)
and the crapwood to make the blueprint. I just need to glue them
together.

Use "carpenters glue". It's yellow (off white) in color. Hide glue can also be used.
