Rick Rubin to produce next Metallica album

Post by Hell_Tanner »

From Metallica's official website:

"We just wanted to let our friends know that we have been jamming, writing, just plain messing around and having fun in the studio for the last few weeks.

"Oh, and by the way, this up-and-coming producer guy named Rick something-or-other has been coming by the studio every now and again to listen to some of our new stuff and throw his two/three cents in.

"Since this Rick dude is new to all of this, we thought it would be a nice gesture to help break him into the music business by asking him to produce our next record. We're very happy he said yes! In other words, we are psyched to share with you that Rick Rubin is producing the next METALLICA album! FUCK YEAH!"

Should be interesting...

Oh please! Who gives a flying fuck about this washed-up sucky ass band? It doesn't matter who produces the next Metallica album because they suck! I can't believe anyone would give this band their hard earned money and buy Metalli-trash.

Long Live Cliff Burton!

Wow, really nice thought out comments around here, you can just ignore the post if you don't give a fuck about it. That's smarter.
Next I'll know better anyway.

Yeh, rick rubin will be interesting with these guys. The best album I have come across that Rubin has done, would definately be The CULT - Electric.

didn't know about this, but this could be interesting considering he produced Slayer..... So maybe a comeback to thrash???? I doubt it though but it would be cool :D

I kind of was hoping that Jane Pauly would play bass.....I'm disappointed! Metallica will have their own reality TV drama before it's over, I'm sure of it! They're a bunch of drama queens nowadays...geeze.....

Metallica has become a victim of their own succes. If I listen to MOF, KEA, RTL or AJFA I get this special feeling especially on KEA. It's one of those feelings that says to you: This is good this is good this is good. It's exactly the same feeling I got with Priest's British Steel, Maiden's 7th son of a 7th son and Badland's debut. It's a sort of "puppy" feeling really.... Anyway that feeling is lacking on later albums of Metallica, I do get a feeling but that feeling is telling me: THIS SUCKS!, it tells me very loudly to. I don't mind bands going in a more quiet/less hard/different direction but Load/reload and st anger were just crap. they could have made 1 good album with it though....
