Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band 2011

Post by mrmetal »

I have been a fan for years, how can you not be? So he is on tour for the first time in 5 years and my brother and I decide to go check him out at the Houston show. What an amazing show! He still has the vocal chops and his band was super tight as they cranked out hit after hit after hit for 2 hours!

If you get a chance to see him, I recommend it highly.

Set list below:

Roll Me Away
Tryin' To Live My Life Without You
The Fire Down Below
Mainstreet
Old Time Rock And Roll
Downtown Train (Tom Waits cover)
Ramblin' Gamblin' Man
Gets Ya Pumpin'
Good For Me
Shinin' Brightly
Travelin' Man
Beautiful Loser
5 Minute Break
Nutbush City Limits
Come to Poppa
Her Strut
Real Mean Bottle (Vince Gill cover)
We've Got Tonight
Turn The Page
Sunspot Baby
The Horizontal Bop
Katmandu
Encore:
Against The Wind
Hollywood Nights
Encore 2:
Night Moves
Rock and Roll Never Forgets

Saw him only once, I believe. It was a huge summer jam outdoor concert in Louisville many moons ago (early 80's). He came out wearing a black shirt, white shorts and white tube socks (stretched all the way up to the knees) with tennis shoes. LOL Great show.

Thanks for the heads up. He's coming around here, if I haven't missed it already - I was wondering if I should take a gamble and get tix, because I wasn't sure if he still had it or not. I've never seen him, but have been a long time fan. I may just have to look into it, just because YOU said so, MrMetal :P

I think he's done for the year. His tour schedule shown on his site ends with the May 28th venue. :-/

I know :( but I did read a blurb that this tour did pretty well, and they may be doing a fall leg. And if MrMetal says so ... then we MUST! lol

When is your Heart/Def Lep show? Was it one of the ones that got rescheduled? I read that Joe Elliot's father passed away.

I bet it was an amazing & unforgettable Concert Event: BOB SEGER & his Silver Bullet Band have pioneered a trailblazed music Career. Night Moves I would say his my personal Classic favorite. I like Gordon LIGHTFOOT and BREAD, too. 8)
