First of all, Mandy "Lion" is quoting prices from scalpers. ALL ON LINE TICKET SOURCES ARE SCALPERS. For some reason people think these are legitimate ticket sellers. They are not. None of them. The only official outlet is ticketmaster (unless it's an alternate agency affiliated with the venue in question). So to say that the band is charging $5,000 a show is way way off. All bands of this caliber (Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, etc.) have tickets up to and around the $150 mark in recent years. Is it fair? Not really. But do they because they can? Yep. And everyone keeps showing the bands that they will pay it. Especially all the idiots who insist that music should be free. You want the band to be 'fan driven' when the supposed fans don't even buy the bands product, then guess what? They gotta make their money on tour then. Keep on downloading.

i dont think thicket prices are that high but thats just my opinion, i would like to see them come down 20% or so but if the music is good im happy to pay.
what do you think is a reasonable price for an album?
NOTE ticket prices in shops are however ridiculously high. Id like to support record shops more but if i did all my shopping there id probably only be able to buy a third of what i do.

assuming the exchange rate is roughly what i think it is i'd say the average price in the uk (from an online shop) is about $15-20 coincidence but it depends if its a new release i guess. Some albums are still pricy but some you can get dirt cheap.
For example i wanted to get an original copy of ozzys first two albums (or at least more original than the new versions) i found a place in the US selling a box set of them both via play.com
i got them for a tad under $5
All said and done, I guess the point I've got out of this entire thread is that Mandy Lion must not have much pull in the music industry if he's bitchin' about ticket prices. Would have thought he could have scored some free tics, myself. But, he does make a good point IMO.
coincidence
