A Night At The Museum was pretty cool, but a little predictable though. You just have to take it for what it is....entertainment.

Well, my wife and I watched World Trade Center this past weekend and it was pretty decent. It's not a movie that I'd care to revisit though. It's one of those movies that it just wears you out to watch.

The most recent movie pic I've seen was Dreamgirls what a terrific movie, I'd loved it! All that singing the whole Cast shined especially Jennifer Hudson. I'd also like Casino Royale: James Bond 007, Wow! Daniel Craig (very handsome) sort of reminds me of the legendary great Steve McQueen & Kirk Douglas. Also liked Inside Man, Jet Li's Fearless, Apocalypto-Starring Rudy Youngblood (sheer pounding excitement that movie!), The Illusionist, Cars and Akeelah & the Bee are just a few mighty 2006 movies that I really loved seeing. Peace!

I took in 'Pan's Labyrinth' this weekend.
Rated R - not one for kiddo's.
Spanish with English sub-titles. However, the movie does not rely on heavy dialogue - visuals are the thing here.
Guillermo del Toro wrote and directs, superbly.
It's dark. Disturbing. Brutal. But, splendidly done. Great cast, too.
I'm the kind of person that usually has a movie figured out way before the ending. However, this one got me. I wasn't prepared for the ending AT ALL. However, its ending is a perfect fit.
If you're not one for typical run-of-the-mill flicks, you may like this one.

I rented an interesting flick the other night called, Half Light. Demi Moore stars in this suspense thriller. For some reason or the other the movie wasn't backed by a large film company, so it wasn't released to theaters. I'm not sure why, because I thought the movie was pretty good. It's definitely worth renting at least.

The Departed
Brutal movie - fun to watch Jack Nicholson become unraveled several times near the end (gotta love Jack) - totally disappointed me near the end with DiCaprio and Matt Damon in the elevator when the doors opened (O-M-G! I didn't see that one coming AT ALL) - stellar cast with outstanding performances (Mark Wahlberg in particular) - just thought it was a little lengthy and was missing something somewhere along the way. Worth renting.

how long was it--like 3 hours? I've been wanting to check it out.

I know this has been out awhile, but how many of you have seen Team America? I laughed the entire movie, and I love the theme song:

"Americaaaa, fuck yea!"

"Ronery . . . I'm so ronery".

"Let's get one thing straight, actor. I don't trust you. And if you betray us, I'll rip your f*cking balls off and stuff them up your a$$ so that the next time you sh*t, you'll sh*t all over your balls, got it?"

hahaha - classic. I laughed sooooo hard (had the uncut version). Gotta buy that one for the collection.

The Departed is just shy of 3 hours.

I got the uncut version, and ohhh maan...the sex scene between Gary & Lisa was over the top! And let's not forget the signal:

'Pirates: At World's End' - Liked it. Saw it twice. Yea, it was really hard to sit through a three hour movie twice which stars JDepp. NOT!! I particularly liked all the characters incorporated into one movie and still having their own agendas. A lot of people have had trouble following it, but I think they are trying to over-think it. Maybe the second viewing helped me a little on that end.

'Knocked Up' - NO it's not a chick flick. Numerous laugh-at-loud moments even from the guys. Sometimes the audience was laughing so hard you couldn't hear the next comeback line. Funneee stuff, this movie.

'Apocalypto' - I liked this movie a lot. Very disturbing. The gore is expected, the heart-wrenching moments were frequent and proved to be more disturbing for me than the gory ones. However, I'm wondering if Mel Gibson isn't somewhat of a sadist. I don't know if he researched the heart-wrenching moments or made them up. Nonetheless, they're brutal.
