After nearly half a million total votes were cast, Eddie Van Halen has been named the victor in Guitar World's first-ever Greatest Guitarist of All Time poll.
The tournament-style readers poll began in April with 132 guitarists, including four — Malcolm Young, Nuno Bettencourt, Jake E. Lee and Chet Atkins — who were voted in by readers.

Awesome to see that the only guitarist to defeat Jake was the eventual champion.

... no chance from the start at all !

i think ppl never knew who the guy was behind ozzys two mega albums , only those who has seen Jake Live

bit of a joke really. A tournament ? I mean, seriously? The final list will be a joke. Freddie King was beaten first round by Eric Clapton, which, if a list is produced, will mean he is near the bottom. Not great in my opinion.

i dont think that this is relevant to style /genre of playing
they are too differnt, all from old blues, popish to hm/rock
this should be categorized instead

and well who ever was participating i guess today, eddievanhalen would be in the lead
