Re-Release of first two Badlands albums

Post by tedeeoo »

I noticed while doing a goggle search for new news on Jake that the first 2 Badlands albums are being re-released on cd by Rock Candy Records, hopefully they'll get "Dusk" to. Good to see anything with Jake on it being re-released.

Thanks for the great news, tedeeoo! Will definitely be keeping an eye out and purchasing. I know it's a pipe-dream, but somehow I hope some of the money reaches Jake.

It's pretty interesting really, if you look on the rock candy site it says that all of their releases are done in conjunction with the artist input, in Badlands case I would think that would have to be Jake, but you never know. They list the release date as late April, who knows, if Jake is somehow, and I stress somehow, involved in this maybe we'll hear something out of him, if nothing else just an update. Hopeful :)

That's great news on the dusty-gators BADLANDS: those are some pretty amazing Classic gems their debut "Badlands & Voodoo Highway" to be re-release on the ROCK CANDY Records. Hopefully some rare vintage tunes will be "added" that JAKE E. LEE has locked away & it's crying to be finally heard. Anyway, all the best w/that...'I hope they keep the origional Photo Artwork to them/if not then another vintage cool/hip photo of the BADLANDS. "Yes" I think that DUSK should be re-release, also. 8) Thanks for sharing/I have to check out this "Rock Candy Records" 'Site, it sounds familiar & tasty, too. Peace!

I have just ordered both from Rock Candy!
Does anyone know how long it usually takes before they ship out the items?
Can't wait! :)

The only person that contributed to the liner notes was Greg.

And there are pictures of Eric Singer in the Voodoo Highway re-issue.

They'll be much talk on here once everyone gets these and reads the booklets. Lots that you guys didn't know, but unfortunately a slightly one sided story and some things are incorrect.

The Ray book will fill in all the rest. And there is plenty.

It's a pretty amazing event all in all, that those two Badlands albums were actually remastered with a 'deluxe' sort of treatment. Never thought we'd see the day. Very very cool.

Thanks to Rock Candy!

It's a shame that not even remastering and reissuing the most important and most personal music of his legacy/career, can get Jake to participate or even care at all.

Trust me when I say, that he does NOT.

"Ray Book", what is this? And based off your post (seasons), you speak as if you know Jake well enough to say what he thinks about all this. How do you know what he cares about or what he thinks? Don't mean to step on your toes or anything, but you make a couple of strong statements in your post.

There has been talk of that for years and it still hasn't happened. who is supposedly writing this book?

it's about time... the orginal Badlands and Voodoo highway have been selling as OOP on eBay for a jillion dollars... Well, one guy wanted $99 or BO for VH. I think the average price for VH has been in the 40-50 range. I just shelled out $30 for a copy of Badlands. Didn't know about the re-release... I'll check it out.
