I suppose the Difference is When One Physically "Can't" play as opposed to chooses not to Play....

I'll go 6-8 months at a time when I get burned out. Due to injury... broken or damaged fingers from hockey... maybe 3-6 weeks.

I've been playing for a lot of years though. In my earlier years it would have killed me to miss a day. But I've got so many interests now, it's easy to set the guitar down and not get back to it for a while.

It's very useful to have a little break in guitar playing, five days or a week. I did it few times and this helped me well. Something new appears in playing after a little break, I noticed. But it's hard to me to make a break, really... I have rather poor interests to change guitar playing by something else. I also play in band, we rehearse every week on Sunday.

Just got back from a european vacation, didn't play for almost 2 1/2 weeks! It's killing me, can't wait to get off work and play tonight.

taking a break always helps me get things right when trying to learn stuff. It's kinda weird how that works.

Played again today!
Even though I'm a singer..(Forming a New band As I type!) I missed Playin' And can never Imagine not Doing so...a bit like Not be able to Drive my Porka FAST!!
