Is it Humbucker or Trembucker spaced?

Trem spacing probably wasn't around then? The difference is only aesthetical I think anyway

Not really, your string spacing will be different wether you have a Floyd or a fixed bridge. If you install a regular humbucker on a Floyd-equipped guitar the poles won't align too well with each strings. In that order, trembucker are a bit larger._will_ wrote:Trem spacing probably wasn't around then? The difference is only aesthetical I think anyway

Aye, I understand all the stuff. but the actual polepiece spacing of 53mm was probably introduced a bit after people started putting humbuckers in strats, so I was guessing after Jake charvelised his Fender

the bridge is/was a Allan Holdsworth prototype humbucker,
which really was a JB with 2 rows of screws
