i think 4 me i will say judas priest touch of evil..i sat an learnt that song until i new it backwards! however the lyrics did not tell me to kill lol!

I would have to say Louder Than Hell by Motley Crue off of Theater of pain.I was 12 years old when that album came out and my older sister was a big 80s rocker chick and it is what got me into hard rock.

Tough one......maybe not just one song rather an entire album: Scorpions' Crazy World made me realize there was an "other" music out there and...certainly Metallica's black album showed me this "other" music could get heavier.

But, to be completely honest, that song got me hooked
on harder music and once I heard some friends band play
Slaughter of the soul and Blinded by fear by At The Gates
I turned my back on the NU-Metal and never once looked back

It's quite hard to answer that kind of question because even after listening to music intensively for years you may always find something that will sound totally fresh and new to your ears and change your perspective on maybe your own playing or even on the way you envision music.
There's so much good music out there, one life can't be enough to listen to everything.
