HAPPY NEW YEAR from jakeelee.com!

Well, we've completed another year and are at the end of the first decade in the 21st century. Not much from Jake in the last 10 years, but we do have "Retraced" and "Dissonance" and rumors of more studio work with various artists. All we can do is keep our eyes and ears open and wait for the next bit of brilliant guitar work from Jake.

I have some things in the works for jakeelee.com in 2010:
1. A new remastered copy of the Badlands compilation DVD "Feels so good to be so bad" is now available. I've added some newly discovered interviews/footage, as well as changed the order and groupings of the content for a better flow. This new version of the 2 DVD set is sure to please the fans and collectors out there. Those of you who already own a copy of the old set know the video quality is far from superb. By remastering this compilation, I am in no way marketing better video quality, (the quality various throughout the compilation and most of the footage is from old VCR recordings from television 20 years ago) so I don't want to set any false expectations.

2. I need someone with lots of hosting space to come forward. I would like to offer more MP3's, YouTube quality videos, etc. from my own collection. If you have some extra space and would like to share, (looking for about 10GB to start) please contact me.

3. In 2009 I mentioned partnering with someone who has a huge collection of music and video from the 1980's and 90's to share. We never found the time to create the linkage needed to offer the collection last year, but we will regroup on it in 2010. Those of you looking for rare audio and video footage for numerous bands will be more than pleased if we can get this going.

4. I'm always open to your suggestions to make the site better. Please feel free to send me your ideas. I read every email I get.

All the best to you all for the New Year.

Latest Jake news...

There have been several articles floating around music web sites regarding Jake's latest studio work. Below you'll find all the information I could find. Unfortunatley, all my sources that can confirm Jake info have dried up. If anyone out there has more information to share, send it to me and I'll post it immediatley.

ENUFF Z'NUFF POSTS NEW TRACK FEATURING JAKE E LEE
From hardrockhideout.wordpress.com - July 21, 2008:

Enuff Z'Nuff have updated their myspace page to stream the new track "High" featuring former Ozzy Osbourne/Badlands guitarist Jake E Lee.

Check out "High" at this location. This track will be included on the band's forthcoming new album, "Dissonance" due out later this year.

According to Chip Z'Nuff, the new album is done, shooting for a release this fall. "We hope to have a special edition for sale at Rocklahoma. We decided to call this one "Album of the Year" and some of the song titles include "Dissonance", "Lazy Dazy", "Altered States", "High", "Fine Line" and "Chicago". It features Donnie Vie, Chip Z'Nuff, Jake E Lee and Vinnie Castaldo. More details to follow.

JAKE E LEE CONFIRMED FOR FULL ENUFF Z'NUFF ALBUM
From www.antimusic.com - July 15, 2008:

AntiMusic reports that Jake E Lee will appear on the entire forthcoming Enuff Z'Nuff album, now titled "Dissonance". The band issued a special collectors edition of the disc at the Rocklahoma festival this past weekend.

The former Ozzy Osbourne/Badlands guitarist was originally believed to only make a guest appearance on the album, but ended up playing lead guitar on all of the tracks that are believed to be on the final version of the effort.

It is not known yet if Jake E Lee will join Enuff Z'Nuff on the road when they tour to support the effort. Frontman Donnie Vie recently returned to the band full time - he had quit touring with them seven years ago.

"Dissonance" promises to be one of the band's strongest efforts in over a decade and like all Z'Nuff releases takes the band into different territories musically. The addition of Jake E Lee only adds a new layer to that evolution. While the album is loaded with melodic heavy rockers, the title track takes them into an almost industrial rock direction.

Fans can get a taste of the new album on Donnie Vie's myspace page where he is featuring a rough mix of the song "Altered States". Ironically a few months back, Donnie had told us his intention of recording an anti-myspace anthem after having to jump through various hoops to get back into his account (myspace quickly remedied this after we ran that report). The song "Altered States" went in the opposite direction with lyrics about finding love on the social networking giant.

JAKE E LEE TO RESURFACE IN 2008?
From hardrockhideout.wordpress.com - February 16, 2008:

Former Ozzy Osbourne/Badlands guitarist Jake E Lee has launched a new heavy rock project with Vinnie Castaldo (drums). Fate-Al (Paleface) on vocals and Karma Cheema (American Head Charge, Otep) on guitar. The group recently entered The Tone Factory studios in Las Vegas to record its first material. More information will be made available soon.

JAKE E LEE AND STEVEN ADLER APPEAR ON NEW ENUFF Z'NUFF CD
From www.antimusic.com February 1, 2008

Enuff Z'Nuff are close to finishing their 12th studio album, and the Beatles inspired hard rockers are getting a little help from their friends on the effort.

Chip Z'Nuff tells AntiMusic that the CD will feature rare appearances from former Ozzy Osbourne/Badlands guitarist Jake E Lee and original Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler. Both have already laid down their tracks for the CD.

The disc has been dubbed "Lost in Vegas" and the band hopes to have the production wrapped up soon for a release later this year. Most of the tracks were recorded in Sin City with some additional tracking in Chicago.

Donnie Vie fans will already be familiar with a couple of tracks, "Roll Away" and "Code Red", which have been re-recorded for this album. The demo for "Roll Away" is currently streaming on Donnie's myspace and the original version of "Code Red" was issued on the UK bonus EP to his DVieD release. Other tracks include "Lazy Dazy", "High", "Fine Line", "Playground", and a cover of the Beatles classic, "Run for your Life".

Chip Z'Nuff plays bass in Steven Adler's band Adler's Appetite.

JAKE E LEE RECORDING WITH STARSHIP VOCALIST
From blabbermouth.net - January 30, 2008:

According to MelodicRock.com, singer Mickey Thomas (Jefferson Starship) is currently recording material at The Tone Factory Studios for a new album that will feature Aynsley Dunbar (Journey, Whitesnake, UFO) on drums, Danny Miranda (Blue Oyster Cult, Queen + Paul Rodgers) on bass and Jake E Lee (Ozzy Osbourne, Badlands) on guitar. A late 2008 release via Direct Music is expected.

A new look and more...

After going months without any updates, I've finally found the time to make some changes.

We have a new look and I'll be customizing the theme over the next week or so. Please disregard any icons and framing that just doesn't look right. I'll fix it all eventually.

I've added a new section named "jakeelee.com Wear". Resident jakeelee.com'er Fretman has hooked us up with Raymond Cook over at poolbargarb.com. Raymond has created some awesome T-shirt designs and more for the site. A small percentage of the sales goes directly to jakeelee.com, so go get your swag today!

To satisfy countless requests, I've added a section named "Gear Specs" for All Access Members. This section outlines specific gear and settings the Jake has used from the early days in Mickey Ratt through the "Retraced" LP. The information was obtained from several interviews with Jake and his guitar techs. The page will be an ongoing work in progress. If you have information to add that has been confirmed, please PM me the details.

Remember, All Access Members enjoy several sections that normal users can't see such as information on Jake's technique, equipment, detailed lyrics to songs, guitar tab, downloads, replica guitars, and more. Get your lifeitme All Access Pass today!

Thanks to all for your continued support and I hope you enjoy the new stuff. Cheers!

More updates...

I've added some new tracks to the Downloads section including some full-length shows. I'm sure most of you will be pleased with the growing selection.

We have a new JakeELee.com exclusive CD named "Badlands: Live Covers II". Its a revised version of the original "Live Covers" CD, but includes 12 tracks instead of 9. I've also enhanced the audio on some of the tracks. All Access Members can get it from the Downloads section.

The forums are still going strong with many regulars posting daily. All 3 Moderator spots have been filled. Fretman, Skezza and Aldear have been doing a good job helping out. Other members have inquired about the position as well, and their interest is much appreciated. I'll keep everyone posted as positions open up.

Thanks to everyone for your continued support.

Some updates...

All Access Memberships are now lifetime and the donation is a one-time charge for complete access to the site.

As you know, the bootlegs section includes shows for sale in which the proceeds go to future development and maintenance of JakeELee.com. I'm lowering the prices in order to generate more sales.

I'll be adding more rare tracks to the Downloads section as well as a couple full-length bootleg shows in the coming weeks provided I can line up some more reliable web space. There's so much content on here that we're using more than 1GB of space and growing!

I've enlisted the services of three All Access Members to Moderate the Forums. I alone haven't had the time to keep up with all the posts, so having a few others out there will definitely help. Any Forum members who don't abide by the Forum Rules will face having their posts edited or even deleted without warning. Read the rules!

At this time, it doesn't look like the Estate Sale is going to happen. It's been months and there is no update, so I'm assuming the idea is kaput.

I have an extensive collection of magazines featuring Jake for sale. Probably every one ever made. I've been collecting them since the 1980's. If anyone is interested in a particular mag with Jake in it, please email me at admin@jakeelee.com. I have a ton of rare Japanese mags like Young Guitar, Burrn, etc. as well as many traditional guitar magazines that include tab. The average cost of a vintage mag will be around $10.

Hope everyone is having a great Summer. More to come later...

Update on the Estate sale...

We are finalizing the details on the items available from the estate sale. There are several items of interest such as reel-to-reel tapes, rare photos, Jake's driving school certificate and more. This is a slow process, so I'll send updates as I have them. If anyone is interested in a specific item, please PM or email me at admin@jakeelee.com.

Williams Family Estate Sale...

To all Jake fans and memorabilia collectors:

JakeELee.com has been given exclusive permission to help sell off personal items from the Williams family estate. These items include several personal items of Jake's that are unclaimed and therefore unwanted by the family. Close friends of the family are looking to sell off these items and generate some revenue for Jade, Jake's daughter, and ultimately Sharon, Jake's granddaughter. I've been told that Jake doesn't want any of the items, so they can now be passed on to those fans who will cherish them most. JakeELee.com visitors will have the first chance to purchase the items before they are listed on eBay as a last resort.

I expect to be in possession of a detailed listing and photos of the items that will be up for sale in a few days. The items will appear under the Memorabilia section in the main menu as they become available. Paypal will be the preferred payment method. Stay tuned...
